With over 37 corporate sponsor tables and 38 generous banquet donors, the event showcased the incredible support of local businesses and community members.

Special thanks go to Lock N Load Storage of Lakewood for sponsoring event tickets and to Black Diamond Builders, a major donor who helped make the portable handicap hunting stand possible. Their generosity, along with that of many others, reflects the strong community spirit that makes this banquet such a success year after year.

Raffles, Fun, and Holiday Giving

The night was packed with energy and opportunity, featuring a wide variety of raffles that kept attendees engaged throughout the evening. A highlight of the event was the Toys for Tots raffle, presented by United States Marine Corps officers, truly captured the holiday spirit—guests received a chance to win a firearm for each toy donated, blending generosity with excitement while supporting children in need.

Honoring a Legacy

One of the most meaningful moments of the evening came during the oral auction, which featured unique items and unforgettable experiences. Among the highlights was the Mike Smits Memorial Fund Gun, a Savage AXIS Stainless with scope in .30-06. Mike “Smitty” Smits served on the Northeast Chapter Board of Directors for more than 10 years and, following his passing in 2020, left a lasting legacy through this memorial. With the support of his family, a gun is auctioned each year in his honor, with proceeds donated according to the wishes of his wife, Darlene.

Supporting Youth, Veterans, and Accessibility

Beyond the excitement, this banquet plays a vital role in strengthening communities across Northeast Wisconsin. Funds raised directly support a wide range of local programs and initiatives, including:

  • Youth deer hunts—where each youth receives a free rifle and scope thanks to $500 sponsorships.

  • Trap shooting events

  • Veteran pheasant hunts, and accessibility projects such as a portable handicap hunting blind and a handicap hunting ATV.
